- Novell Introduces "NetWare Ready" DR DOS LANPacks

- announced DR DOS LANPacks for Novell NetWare users. The LANPacks provide:

- * Complete NetWare workstation tools for DOS and Windows
- * 100 percent Windows 3.1 compatibility

- "DR DOS LANPack is designed to assist our customers in taking the hassle
- out of upgrading and getting the performance benefits of the latest DOS
- technology on nodes across the network," said John Edwards, executive vice
- president of Novell, Desktop Systems Group. "Now users can install DR
- DOS LANPacks once on the server saving all the time and money associated
- with multiple installations at various sights."

- The DR DOS LANPack builds on the benefits of DR DOS 6.0 by adding remote
- installation and configuration features and NetWare workstations tools for
- DOS and Windows. The DR DOS LANPack is installed once on the NetWare
- server. The network administrator can update users login script and
- pre-configure DR DOS which can be automatically downloaded onto client PCs
- with the latest NetWare shell(NETX), all without user disruption.

- The "NetWare ready" DR DOS LANPack includes the NetWare workstation kits
- for DOS/Windows. It supports Windows 3.0 and 3.1 and includes: advanced
- versions of the NetWare client shell and SPX/IPX drivers; extended and
- expanded memory shell options; burst-mode protocol that dramatically
- improves network performance; and new Windows workstation tools and
- enhanced network installations program for Windows' users.

- DR DOS 6.0 is the most advanced DOS in the industry, offering more memory
- to run applications, increased disk capacity through built-in compression
- technology, and a high-performance disk cache. DR DOS 6.0 is fully
- compatible with Microsoft Windows 3.0 and 3.1, and offers enhanced Windows
- performance by optionally reconfiguring the client PCs using DR DOS'
- memory and disk management technology. "My compatibility problems were
- solved instantly with the DR DOS Business Update," said Peter M. DaCosta,
- GumTree Graphics. It was easy to install and my copy of Windows 3.1 runs
